University attended and degree obtained:
University of Charleston West Virginia Bachelors of Science in Organizational Leadership & Masters of Science in Strategic Leadership with a Specialization in Strategy as Practice.
How did you start your business/ what you do?
It’s interesting; I got my start in some cases by being at the right place at the right time, and also being prepared for the opportunities when they arrived. I got my big break in Transformers when I received a phone call one day. I was writing a paper for graduate school when a person in the film industry called me and said that the director of Transformers The Last Knight was looking for a former Navy SEAL to play a role. I said sure, and the next day I was on set. Now, prior to the call I was a public speaker, so I was used to memorizing my messages and standing in front of a group of people. So when the director yelled, “ACTION” as a production crew stood by and with a camera in my face, it didn’t seem foreign to me, it seemed very natural for me to just say what I was told to say. So my past experiences which unbeknownst to me at the time prepared me for acting - helped me to act as natural as an actor that had been acting for years. The same goes for the opportunity that opened up for me as an author and writer. I befriended a very well known TV personality here in America. She has one of the top rated national TV shows in the country. Anyway, she has known my story of going from Nigeria to the Bronx, to the SEAL Teams and Hollywood, and she loved the story. One day the TV personality decided to introduce me to one of the top book publishers in the world, Harper Collins (Game of Thrones, Hidden Figures, Heaven is For Real, Divergent). After the introduction, I signed a two-book deal with them and started writing my first book. Now, for years I wrote my own sermons, blogs, letters, reports for work, and research papers for school, so when the opportunity arrived, all the hard work I had done over the years prepared me for the opportunity. I was able to write my first book on my own (due out January 2019), and then I was hired to write a screenplay, and a second book for someone else. I was in the right place at the right time, but I was also prepared for the opportunities when they came. I say that to say, never despise small beginnings or what you’re doing now, because you never know how what you’re currently doing is secretly preparing you for the dream job that you desire.
Your inspiration and motivation:
My motivation is changing lives. I was inspired by film to be a Navy SEAL, and then I joined the Navy and became a SEAL, which subsequently changes the trajectory of my life and the lives of my family members. Now I feel that it is my duty to pay it forward. Every single day, I strive to write, speak, produce or act in something that will potentially change someone’s life in a positive way. Initiating transformation in the lives of others is my motivation.
Challenges you face:
The biggest challenge I would say I currently face is unprofessionalism amongst people and organizations I partner with. And as a Christian, it pains me to say it, but predominately amongst Christian organizations. So often I partner with people who are late, bad at communication, and have no business bearing. It is so frustrating and a great challenge for me.
How do you overcome challenges?
"I try to overcome the above challenge, by setting the proper example of professionalism everyday. I tell my assistant all the time, “I don’t care how unprofessional an organization we’re working with is, we will not follow in their steps. We will be on time; we will keep our word; we will communicate effectively, and we will do our job. And hopefully, our counterparts will see our example and follow suit."
Words of encouragement to someone out there:
"There are times when you will fail and make mistakes, but that’s Ok. Failure is a part of life, but in most cases failure is a gift. I say that because there are so many priceless lessons that we can learn from failures. Lessons that if we apply, can take us to GREAT heights. I would not be the man I am today, or where I am without the multitude of failures I’ve faced. So much so, that I coined a saying, which goes like this, “A failure is only a failure if you don’t learn from it. But if you learn from it, then it becomes a lesson.”

Africa without Borders with Kilometre 51!
Speaking of young people who wanna do great things? This is definitely one story that would push you beyond limits. Kilometre 51 is a Non- Governmental Organisation founded with the sole aim of creating a border-less Africa- opening up the borders of Africa to promote businesses, trade and also, tourism.
The founder/ CEO is Mr Gerald Konwea- an entrepreneur and serial business man who is from Delta State, Nigeria. His experiences in businesses, entrepreneurship and life generally triggered the birth of Kilometre 51 so be rest assured that you will be thrilled by his success so far;
Biography;
Gerald Konwea is an astute entrepreneur and business man with years of experience serving the public and private sectors.
From founding an Information Technology company and leading the eCommerce revolution in Nigeria in 2013, Gerald Konwea has fast evolved into a problem solver whilst leading his team to develop ground breaking solutions to everyday life.
His work and touch was prominent when he partnered the Cross River State government in a charge to execute the biggest Trade event on African soil and arguably the world.
He has also developed ideas for economic turn around for a few state governments and has advise the Peoples Democratic Party's heavy weight, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, on sure fire ways to reorganize and get the party into winning ways.
Gerald Konwea has working relationships with Nigeria Reads, an NGO that is committed to educating every Nigerian child through establishing community libraries and organizing local educational events and AFRITAL, a civil society initiative that is committed to raising transparent and accountable and leaders for the advancement and development of the continent.
His years of experience working with African SMEs has helped him to become a go to name for tough fixes in strategy development and is actively planning KM51 - a Pan African youth initiative that is campaigning for a borderless Africa.
University attended and degree obtained;
Lincoln University of Pennsylvania (USA) – MSc. Administration (Major – Finance)
How did you start your Foundation?
I just started. I was born and raised by civil servants who, like every other Nigerian parent, thought the normal order of life is to get born, go to school, get a job and die. That didn’t sit right with me and so I dared to prove everyone wrong. It wasn’t easy but I’ve been going. Many years strong, with tears and determination, we are still going.
Your inspiration and motivation;
I look at the world outside and around Africa on a daily basis, right from when I was a kid, and there’s this rush of awesomeness I feel – the people, culture, the technology, the shared purpose and I’ve always dreamed about the future of Africa that never came. I wondered why we never are intentional as Nigerians. I’ve wondered why we’ve remained in the same spot or even been in regressive motion. These concerns keep me up at night. Sometime, somehow, things have to change. We’ve got to allow our young dream dreams that they can wake up to pursue. Weve got to live a society that our unborn can inherit and be proud of the work we’ve put in. The Nigeria I see today is a couple hundred years far from that reality and because I am a long-term person who respects value and purpose, I know that I have to do my bit. That, keeps me motivated.
Challenges you face;
The challenges young people face on the continent are similar to those that limit women, globally. Challenges that laugh at youths who envision a borderless Africa, challenges that bar them from top jobs, the ones that inhibit them from accessing finance and the ones that make electable positions incognito. These challenges are the focus for Kilometre 51 for instance.
For me personally, Nigeria, on its own, is a big challenge. Every day I wake up in Nigeria, I face a thousand reasons to give up but some of us are arrogantly tenacious and we’ve just found a way to stay going. One of my biggest limitation is access to funding. I have all these great ideas but I gotta work at the pace of delays and people who don’t get the point before I can get most things achieved. Ironically, access to funding has been my biggest blessing. I’ve had to think my way through with all my ideas.
How do you overcome the challenges;
As I stated above, there are 2 challenges I face – Nigeria and funding. With tenacity and creativity, I weave my way through the hurdles.
Words of encouragement to someone out there;
Have a reputable character, discover what you want early and, stay on the course.

Toronto's finest.............. International DJ Damiger!
From being exposed to music at an early age to becoming one of toronto's finest DJs....... International DJ Damiger is a successful Disc Jockey and a powerful brand to reckon with when it comes to music and entertainment in West African, North America and Europe. This professional DJ spins different genres of music from Hip Hop, EDM/top40, RnB, House, Funky House music, Reggae/Dancehall, Soca, Afro beats and Old skool. His ability to thrill and entertain different types of audience across the Globe makes him stand out.
Damilola Adenuga- Taiwo popularly known as DJ Damiger was born and bred in Lagos state, Nigeria. He has a Bachelors degree in Engineering from University of Lagos and a masters degree in Cyber Security from a renowned Canadian academic institution. DJ Damiger developed interest in becoming a DJ while he was in school and after listening to several top DJs play, watching tutorials and personal practice, he became a Disc Jockey and started living his dream; spinning at school parties, restaurants, night-clubs and house parties.
Currently based in Toronto, Canada, DJ Damiger has handled series of concerts and events for multinational companies like Rotary International, Mara and Silverbird group. He has also performed in top carnivals such as the International Lagos Carnival, top radio stations such as Rhythm 93.7fm and online radio platforms. He has also performed at several high profile weddings as well as private events around the Globe.
Furthermore, DJ Damiger has released series of mixtapes projects as well as song refixes for his ever growing worldwide fanbase that always anticipate each new mix and live performance at their events. He is currently working with several top artistes on the release of his DJ album.
However, in the midst of all his successes, he admits to face some challenges;
"Having to balance my lifestyle, most especially when you have to work extended hours preparing and playing at several gigs in a week. There are lots of misconceptions about DJs; 'come to party and play music'.... lol. DJs have to go through a bit, sometimes, extra lengths to prepare for events especially the high profiled ones like weddings and concerts. This entails keeping myself healthy - I try to visit the gym 3 times a week as well as do things that affect my mindset positively. Additionally, it is important that I keep up with music trends as well as trends in the DJ community- I am in a music service industry and work constantly with people, it is very important that I always keep them happy."DJ Damiger has several influences such as DJ Jazzy Jeff (USA), DJ Neptune (Nigeria), Calvin Harris (USA), DJ Scratch Bastid (Canada), DJ TLM (Netherlands) and DJ Angelo (UK).

Caesar Couture....... every Gentleman's dream!
The quality and colour of fabric, the stitching, finishing and of course, the fitting is a true definition of perfection and style. If there's anything i know about Caesar Couture, I know for sure that their suits make men into "perfect" Gentlemen....... so chic!
In the midst of the CEO's meganess, his humility is overwhelming........ read his inspiring story below;
The Entrepreneur.
I am Esosa Ogedegbe, the CEO of Caesar Couture and I am from Edo state. I am a very energetic young man with a lot of zest for perfection in whatever task set before me and I am motivated by each customer/client's satisfaction. This is why I am driven to do more and be more creative.
The clothing line;
Caesar Couture is a clothing line that specialises in Bespoke Men's wear with its major focus on Men's suits.
The kickoff;
Caesar Couture was established in 2000. I started the business solely because I believe I could create whatever I pictured I want to be seen on- I wanted to wear my own handwork and liked the feeling of fulfillment I got from it, subsequently, the feeling of fulfillment from dressing others up. My ideal Client is anyone who has a great desire for quality and detail. Interestingly, the business is lucrative as customer satisfaction determines our profits - the more we leave our customers satisfied, the greater our profit margin.
The challenges;
Time management- it is particularly tasking and very demanding when we have a bulk of orders at the same time. Notwithstanding, the attention we pay to each and every client together with the quality of work we deliver is what makes us different.
The keywords;
Passion and Hardwork! This business like any other cannot thrive without passion and hardwork-

The Lion behind Rage Media Global...... Mr George Omoraro.
George was born in Ilorin, Kwara state on the 25th of August into a very awesome family of 4 - his parents, younger brother and of course, himself. He spent most of his life there until he relocated to Lagos in 2007. He attended Covenant University Ota where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Mass Communication. He loves travelling, meeting people and creating value. He is from Delta state, Nigeria.
The experiences he got from working with a lot of media agencies in the past triggered his drive to start up his own media company;
" I have worked with a lot of media agencies in the past and gained a lot of experience over time. In 2016, I moved to Abuja and started a new position. While doing this, I noticed a void in the digital space in Abuja- many startups and even long time businesses are somehow getting their digital marketing wrong so on the 14th of February, 2017, RAGE MEDIA GLOBAL was birthed- we exist to solve digital marketing challenges the 21st century companies face."
George strongly believes that travel and exposure are very pivotal in life. According to him, the quality of a man's result can be traced to his level of exposure so he gets inspired when he travels. Also, he has a lot of mentors- some he has met and the others he has never met but he reads through their stories and he is motivated to do more as their results and methods inspire and enlighten him.
Furthermore, starting up his own media company, he was very honest to admit that he had some financial challenges as well as getting the right partners on board. Success is not magic- sometimes things are rough and it is not just easy but in all, we must remember to keep perspectives;
" God and goals! - God is my number 1 source and knowing that He's got my back is what keeps me going. Also, goals- even after achieving a milestone, there is another to achieve, we never stop! knowing that I am and can make more impact in the world pushes me to do more. On the other hand, I have a lot of people cheering me on- friends, my family and my mentors. Having good people back you up is priceless- it makes it difficult to give up when you get to see messages from them as well as their faces."
I hope someone out there gets inspired by what he said;
"Truth be told, there is hardly any business without its own challenges but we must all master the act of turning our challenges into successes which is what we have done over time- we don't focus on our challenges rather, we focus on solutions!"see pictures below

The voice behind the Pro-women Safe Sanitary Foundation!
Miss Vivian Akudo Nwogu was born in Ezinihitte Mbaise in Imo state, Nigeria. She is a registered nurse and the founder of the "Pro-women Safe Sanitary Foundation". Talking about young people doing big things, Vivian is the brain behind the "PADS FOR HER" initiative- a group of people who going into remote villages to sensitise girls on how to use sanitary pads as well as give them for free because they cannot afford it. According to her, giving a girl a pen is good but teaching them how to take care of themselves is also very necessary;
" Early last year, I saw a campaign to give a girl-child a pen and I thought within me- these people are not even seeing that there's a problem with the affordability of sanitary pads and the need to solve it. There and then, I called a few friends to join me in the campaign for sanitary pads. After all that, the issue was not brought up again so in December, I had to kick-start it myself with a broadcast. My friends supported and responded by donating in fact, Mrs Chidera Emetu a secondary school classmate took it up and added my account number on Facebook which led to a lot people volunteering and donating. Between December 23rd and 24th, we realised almost 40,000 naira which we used to purchase the pads and went into the rural areas in Owerri to sensitise the young girls we met as well as give them pads. You needed to see the joy in their faces and how happy they were so friends encouraged me to turn it into a Non- Government Organisation which led to the birth of the Pro-women Safe Sanitary Foundation".
Driven by her love for organising things in school and events as well as her profession, Vivian knew she could do more so she created a group for women sanitary on Facebook which was perfect for her idea at the long run. Furthermore, the problem of sanitary pads being unaffordable was her motivation;
"I have 3 sisters and I know how it costs my parents to take care of us monthly being that one pad costs 350-400 naira, sometimes we use more than one per month. You can imagine some girl out there who cannot afford 3 square- meal talk more of sanitary pad hence the use of rags and tissue paper. I even know someone who takes Vitamin K to prevent menstruation because she can't afford pad monthly, you can now imagine how risky that is".
Like every other entrepreneur, Vivian faces challenges; she needs a website, a photographer, graphic designer, most importantly, she needs funding for the events she has lined up to ask for donations, as well as fundraising which will help generate money to continue running the NGO.
See pictures of her as well as her events below;
More info concerning her upcoming events will be communicated via the blog, stay tuned in to be a part of it any way you can.

Chefpreneur Extraordinaire..... Miss Chioma Andra Amadi!
She has a bachelors degree in Economics which she obtained from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, she is a full fledged Nigerian from Rivers state and I must say she is very chic. Chioma is one of those who loves to cook and with the entrepreneurial spirit embedded inside her, she turned her passion into a business hence her name " the Chefpreneur".
"I started professionally in 2016 from making burgers in church every Sunday then I gradually moved up to home made meals and catering for events. Now, I run a mobile service and sell as a food vendor".
Chioma's success story so far shows a drive for success against all obstacles - she admits to the fact that challenges are inevitable especially when it comes to finance and funding as she has to invest in the business but her mind is made up to keep the dream alive no matter what.
We are deeply inspired by her story and hope someone out there is too.
